Every year, we see new faces climb the standings, whether its goals, points, and or assists. It might be players that are finally breaking through and making a name for themselves. It could be players who had a few down years and finally getting back to their old selves. Here are the top 5 players that have improved the most, compared to their previous couple seasons.
Johnny Gaudreau

A player who used to be so dominant in the league, Johnny Gaudreau looks like he’s back to his old self. Racking up 54 points in 42 games, he is on pace to crack his career high of 99 points back in 2018-2019. Since the new year, Gaudreau has 21 points in 13 games which puts him number one on Calgary. Calgary is battling to stay in the playoff race so they will need Gaudreau to continue what he has been doing for the first half of the season.

Nazem Kadri

Since the transition from Toronto, Nazem Kadri has been a 0.50 PPG player. Coming into the 2022 season, Kadri has gone off the charts, tallying 60 points in the first 41 games of the season, putting him 1st on his team and 3rd in the National Hockey League. If Kadri has his emotions in check when playoffs come around, expect Colorado to go deep and have a chance of hoisting the Stanley Cup. This team is very deep, especially down the middle.

Chris Kreider

If you ask anyone, who would be in your top 10 goal scorers, Chris Kreider is a name that won’t be on many lists. Having 33 goals in 47 games puts him in 1st in the National Hockey League. He has already beat his career high in goals with only half of the season played. The New York Rangers is another deep team that can do some serious damage in the playoffs if you can get good performances from their key players including Kreider. Expect Kreider to be in the hunt for his first

Jordan Kyrou

A player that has had high potential ever since being drafted by the St. Louis Blues, Jordan Kyrou is finally becoming the player that fans have been waiting for. Tallying 42 points in 40 games puts him in 1st on the Blues roster. One thing that St. Louis has been lacking in the last two seasons is offense. Having Jordan Kyrou playing alongside Vladimir Tarasenko has been giving the offensive boost that St. Louis has been looking for. Expect Kyrou to get better as his years progress in the

Troy Terry

From being the American hero who scored the game winning shootout goal to give the USA Gold in the World Juniors and now an NHL All Star. Troy Terry is currently 7th in the league in goals with 25. The Anaheim Ducks have been sitting in the bottom half of the standings for the last few years and now having some young talent arise is starting to bring the Ducks back to life. With Corey Perry gone and Getzlaf on the back nine of his career, expect Terry and a few others to step up

and be the leaders of the Anaheim Ducks.
It will be interesting to see what these players can do for the club moving forward, whether it’s become a part of the future or being able to give them the boost they need in order to contend for a Stanley Cup.
