The pandemic has reminded us: We need sports in our lives — and here's why

Okay yes, I'll admit this is in response to Norman Chad's article on The Washington Post that — to put it kindly, sparked some controversy (if controversy meant that nobody was in agreement with him).

Didn't see it? Here's the headline in question.

I noticed this article during one of my scrolling crusades on Twitter and couldn't help but laugh. It was an obvious attempt at click baiting which I'll admit kind of worked (seriously, I've never written a blog before).

We need sports.

First reason? This exact article in question. Nobody sane would write something like this if sports were still on. Even us Leafs fans want whatever this season was back. My best guess is Norman's either a Red Wings fan or — bare with me, Dustin Byfuglien in disguise.

I don't need to sit here and explain to you, a sports fan, why sports are amazing. While we're sitting here social distancing we might as well get a kick out of those who want to ruin the parade.

*side note - using the word parade as a Leafs fan doesn't sit right

Instead what I'll do is compile a couple of the best responses to his article. Now I don't condone hate, but I do condone some healthy chirps.

If he had more sports in his life he might know when to take the L.
